I have been introduced to reiki in 1998 and had the Master-Teacher initiation in 2000. I am using Reiki as an additional therapy in Shiatsu treatments. I can also offer it as a different modality. Feel free to enquire about Reiki healing.

More about Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an “attunement” given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of “life force energy” to improve one’s health and enhance the quality of life.
Its use is not dependent on one’s intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.
While Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.
Reiki symbols

CHO KU REI
Intention: To switch and empower.
Purposes: Manifestation, Increased power, accelerated healing, healing catalyst, protection.
Cho Ku Rei, or the power symbol, generally means “Place the power of the universe here.” This symbol can be used at any time during treatment but is especially effective at the beginning or end of a session. It is most often related to a light switch as its intention is to instantly boost your abilities. The coil-like structure of this symbol is incredibly telling. The coil can expand and contract to regulate the “Ki” energies and can also be used as a funnel of sorts to intensify and focus power or to decrease and release energy when used in reverse. The coil can also be used to close space around the receiver or an area in order to block out unnecessary energies and to keep energies received from leaving.

SEI HE KI
Intention: Balance, Harmony, Emotion.
Purposes: Improve memory, Emotional Healing, Mental Balance
Also known as the Harmony symbol, Sei Hei Ki (pronounced “Sey-Hio-Ki”) brings together the brain and the body. Generally translated to “God and man become one,” Sei Hei Ki releases deep-rooted emotional negativity from the body and into the universe. Making this symbol your ally is an investment that will repay you over the course of your life. Sei Hei Ki is “loyal friend,” especially whenever you are facing difficulties.

HON SHA ZE SHO NEN
Intention: Timelessness
Purposes: Distant healing, past/present/future, spiritual connection
Also known as the “Distance Symbol,” Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen (pronounced “Hon-Sha-Zee-Show-Nen”) means “No past, no present, no future” and is to extend powers and send Reiki energies over a long distance. It symbolizes a shapeshifter that can slip through time and space. However, do not focus its efforts on a specific problem – rather you must send its Energies Without Limitation and they will go where they are needed. Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen also gives access to the past and present or the life records of a person. Because of this, it can be used to dispel trauma for deep healing.
