Believe and Achieve: How to Achieve What You Want
You have to become aligned with what you want to attract into your life.
Many people believe that their thoughts alone create their reality. I see it somewhat differently.
The thoughts that appear in your mind are strongly connected to your inner state and how you feel at any particular moment. This may explain why it can be difficult to think happy thoughts when you are deeply sad, worried or afraid. In moments of complete joy, on the other hand, painful memories may temporarily disappear from your awareness.
If you want to understand how to achieve what you want, therefore, don’t look only at your thoughts. Look at the state from which those thoughts are arising.
Take Gradual Steps Towards What You Want
It is important to understand gradual progress.
For example, seeking complete financial freedom while struggling to put food on the table may create enormous internal pressure. Instead, begin with the next achievable step.
What would make your situation slightly better?
What can you realistically change today?
Small achievements can create confidence. Confidence makes the next step easier, and gradually your external reality begins to change with you.
You don’t have to reach your destination today. You simply have to start moving towards it.
Move From the Controlling Mind to the Creating Mind
The human mind spends a great deal of time living in the past. It carries reactions, resistance and fear. At other times, it escapes into imagined futures, hopes and expectations.
This can create a cycle in which we repeatedly focus on the very things that cause us suffering.
In Sanskrit, the repetitive cycle of suffering is called samsara.
To break that cycle, your attention has to return to the present.
Instead of constantly asking:
What will happen?
Why did this happen to me?
What if everything goes wrong?
begin noticing what is actually happening now.
This shift creates space for a different kind of thinking.
Use Gratitude to Change Your Inner State
One of the simplest ways to change your inner state is gratitude.
Be grateful for who you are today.
Be grateful for what you already have.
Be grateful for what you can see around you.
You can even appreciate something that you would like to experience yourself without becoming desperate to possess it.
Gratitude moves your attention away from constant lack.
A conditioned and controlling mind often produces inconsistent results because its attention is unstable. It jumps from one problem to another and from one desire to the next.
A calmer mind can hold an intention without constantly fighting reality.
That is why achieving what you want is not simply about wanting harder. Your inner state, attention and actions must begin moving in the same direction.
Take Responsibility for Your Life
An important shift happens when you begin taking responsibility for your life.
Instead of asking:
“Why is this happening to me?”
try asking:
“How can I live so that I no longer need excuses?”
This question changes your position.
You stop looking only for external reasons and begin examining your own decisions, reactions and actions.
Responsibility doesn’t mean blaming yourself for everything that happens. It means recognizing the part of your life that you can influence.
That is where your power lies.
Knowing What You Don’t Want Can Clarify What You Want
Sometimes it is easier to recognize what you don’t want.
That’s useful.
If you know clearly what you don’t want, ask yourself:
What do I want instead?
If you don’t want financial insecurity, perhaps you want stability.
If you don’t want constant conflict, perhaps you want peaceful communication.
If you don’t want exhaustion, perhaps you want balance.
Don’t spend all your energy fighting what you don’t want. Use the contrast to identify what you do want, and then begin looking for actions and solutions that move you towards it.
This creates a solution-based mindset.
Release the Desperation Behind Desire
There is an important difference between intention and desperation.
When you desperately need something to happen, your mind constantly reminds you that you don’t have it yet.
That can create frustration, anxiety and disappointment.
Instead, know what you want while allowing yourself to remain calm.
Set the direction. Take the appropriate actions. Then allow the process to unfold without trying to control every detail.
You can have a strong intention without living in a state of constant urgency.
Allow Life to Surprise You
You don’t always know how something will arrive in your life.
My own spiritual understanding is that there are dimensions of life and consciousness that we do not completely perceive or understand.
Whatever your personal beliefs may be, the practical principle is simple:
Know what you want, but don’t become obsessed with exactly how it must happen.
Do your part.
Keep your intention clear.
Remain curious about the way life unfolds.
Sometimes the route towards what you want looks completely different from the route you originally imagined.
Use Affirmations to Challenge Limiting Beliefs
Affirmations can be useful when they help you repeatedly direct your attention towards a new possibility.
An affirmation should not simply be repeated mechanically.
It needs to become meaningful.
When you first repeat a new statement, your mind may immediately resist it. This is especially likely when the statement contradicts a belief you have carried for many years.
For example:
“Money comes to me from different sources consistently and in increasing amounts.”
Your immediate reaction might be:
That’s not true.
Notice the reaction rather than fighting it.
The resistance shows you where your existing belief conflicts with the new idea.
Repeated reflection, together with real-world action and experience, can gradually help you develop a different relationship with that belief.
Don’t Let Doubt Control Your Decisions
Doubt often arises from fear and conditioning.
What if it doesn’t work?
What if I fail?
What if I’m fooling myself?
You don’t necessarily need to eliminate every doubtful thought.
Instead, learn not to automatically obey it.
A doubtful thought is still a thought.
You can notice it and continue taking the action that you have consciously chosen.
This is where belief becomes practical.
Believing doesn’t mean pretending that reality is different from what it is. It means allowing yourself to move towards a possibility before you have absolute proof that you will succeed.
Believe, Align and Act
There is an old principle:
What the human mind can conceive and learn to believe, it can begin moving towards.
Stay balanced and calm.
Give your desired direction attention, but don’t feel the need to constantly announce what you are going to achieve.
You don’t need to tell everyone that you are going to “crush it.”
That can create unnecessary pressure.
Instead, become quieter.
Know what you want.
Align yourself with it.
Imagine what it would feel like to live it.
Then take the actions that belong to that reality.
No desperation. No unnecessary rush. No constant struggle.
Intention, alignment and action.
And then allow life to answer.
Best of luck with your achievements.
